Badge Black
Why do some American bounty hunters and police officers have a black band across their badge?
thanks 4 below - but I mean, it is often done when they work in another state, such as when an officer hawian worked in Denver for one week, he needed to cover his badge with a band Thich 1cm in the center of his badge !!... thanks
These are called bands of mourning, and are used only for a reason, and remember this is a enforcement officer of the court colleagues who lost their lives in the line of duty or perhaps even in physics or other circumstances. It a sign of respect for this fallen officer, the bottom line. Contrary to what some people said below, they are not illegal and are not a waste of public funds. It does not hide the badge number of officer, especially when you consider that the badge numbers of many Officers are on the back of the badge. And it's not a scare tactic or the other as a means of initmidate people. The key is that the cuff Mourning is one goal, and it is to pay tribute to a fallen fellow law enforcement.
