Converter to use PC Monitor as a TV?
Is there a converter to use a pc lcd monitor (i don't know what type of plug i think its DVI) as a sort of tv so i can use for instance a set top box with it?
A set top box, as in a Cable box?
To use your PC monitor with a Cable TV box, here are the minimum requirements:
1) The monitor must be HDCP-compliant.
2) You must have a digital HD cable box. Those have DVI or HDMI outputs and can be connected directly to an HDCP-compliant monitor.
3) If the monitor does not have speakers, you need to hook up a separate set of speakers to the digital HD cable box to get sound.
If you don't have a digital HD cable box, you should call your cable company and ask to exchange for one. Most cable companies offer free upgrade to digital HD.
