EasyCAP USB capture card question?

When u plug it to ur Xbox 360 (or other device) do u need connected to the computer ur at the same time, or maybe u is not plugged in, and away from ur Xbox and bring it to ur computer? I want to know, because I HAV whether I need to buy a laptop cuz my computer is a normal floor against my xbox, and i hav cats, so I can make a long rope up there. anyone know?

And yes, you not only need to plug it but you also need to download software or install the drivers you with the disc.
