Zotac Geforce
can i use a ZOTAC ZT-96TES3D-FSP GeForce 9600 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 in my Dell Dimension 8400?
i was wondering if i the dell dimension has enough power to run this card
yes its a pci express. i just dont know if the dell dimension stock power supply at 350W is enough for this card
Open up the case and look for a PCI Express x16 express slot, pictures of what it looks like are easily available on Google:

Look up the dimensions of the card, and see if you can even fit it within your case, and finally check your PSU wattage. If you have a small form case, you probably use micro ATX form factor for your motherboard and probably use a lower wattage PSU, which might not be capable of running the card. The safe range is 400-450W, 300-350 and lower might be able to run it as well (people typically over estimate the amount of power they need to run their systems) but its probably better to overestimate than underestimate.
Most of this is easily attained by opening the case (typically the PSU has a sticker that will tell you it's output amount, if it's 400W or above, you should be good to go, just make sure your case is large enough, some very small cases get manufactured nowadays, the 9600 GT isn't that large, but Dell surprises me sometimes).
